Tamil Nadu Film Festival celebrates cinema through its second edition in Chennai, the capital state of Tamil Nadu.
The Nilgiri Tahr is the state animal of Tamil Nadu. It is an endangered species. The TNFF has chosen the Nilgiri Tahr an icon for its award. The Nilgiri Tahr Statuette was visualized by Darryl Lawrence D’Souza and created by artisans Kamal, Ananthakumar, and Selvam the alumni of the Government College of Fine Arts, Egmore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The TNFF advocates the preservation of the environment and animals by giving the Golden Nilgiri Tahr Award Statuette.
