We have stopped receiving submissions for the 2025 edition.
We welcome all submitters to choose the correct category. The CATEGORIES are based on the COUNTRY OF PRODUCTION and the QUALIFICATION of the FILM DIRECTOR.
1st STEP:
Decide whether your Film was produced by an Indian (individual/company) or from any other country (individual/company).
2nd STEP:
Decide the QUALIFICATION of the FILM DIRECTOR. Is that person a PROFESSIONAL or STUDENT?
We hope the following examples give clarity in choosing the correct SUBMISSION CATEGORY.
EXAMPLE 1: An INDIAN FILM made by an Indian PROFESSIONAL Film Director must be submitted in the category INDIAN PROFESSIONAL ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 2: An INDIAN FILM made by a NON-INDIAN PROFESSIONAL Film Director must be submitted in the category INDIAN PROFESSIONAL ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 3: An INDIAN FILM made by an Indian STUDENT Film Director must be submitted in the category INDIAN STUDENT ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 4: An INDIAN FILM made by a NON-INDIAN STUDENT Film Director must be submitted in the category INDIAN STUDENT ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 5: An INTERNATIONAL FILM made by a NON-INDIAN PROFESSIONAL Film Director must be submitted in the category INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 6: An INTERNATIONAL FILM made by an INDIAN PROFESSIONAL Film Director must be submitted in the category INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 7: An INTERNATIONAL FILM made by a NON-INDIAN STUDENT Film Director must be submitted in the category INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ENTRY.
EXAMPLE 8: An INTERNATIONAL FILM made by an Indian STUDENT Film Director must be submitted in the category INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ENTRY.
INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL ENTRY
INTERNATIONAL Narrative Feature
Films originating from outside India must be submitted in the INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY.
- Films produced from 1st January 2022 are eligible to participate in the competition section of the TNFF.
- Submit films made in any language and from anywhere in the world except INDIA.
- Films with a minimum run time of 61 minutes to a maximum run time of 120 Minutes are eligible under the Form: Narrative Feature
INTERNATIONAL Documentary Feature
INTERNATIONAL Documentary Feature
Films originating from outside India must be submitted in the INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY.
- Films produced from 1st January 2022 are eligible to participate in the competition section of the TNFF.
- Submit films made in any language and from anywhere in the world except INDIA.
- Films with a minimum run time of 50 Minutes to a maximum run time of 120 Minutes are eligible under the Form: Documentary Feature.
INTERNATIONAL Animated Feature
Films originating from outside India must be submitted in the INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY.
- Films produced from 1st January 2022 are eligible to participate in the competition section of the TNFF.
- Submit films made in any language and from anywhere in the world except INDIA.
- Films with a run time of 0 to 120 Minutes are eligible under the Form: Animated Feature.
INTERNATIONAL Short Documentary
Films originating from outside India must be submitted in the INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY.

- Films with a run time of 0 to 50 Minutes are eligible under the Form: Short Documentary.
INTERNATIONAL Short Animation

INTERNATIONAL Short Film: 0 to 20 Minutes

INTERNATIONAL Short Film: 0 to 5 Minutes
